Quotes gathered while I was at the beach…

It was a long-planned, 1-week, 4-generation family vacation at a NC beach. Face-time with loved ones. Sometimes we need to get out from behind the computer and journal with pen and paper, laugh at crazy UNO Attack games and occasionally cry together. Face to face.

Now as I re-enter my life, I cherish the quiet for reflection and an appreciation for this new normal. Found these very appropriate quotes upon my return…

I hope you always have a shell in your pocket…and sand in your shoes.
~ Unknown

Creating Value: Don’t boil the ocean. Solve one problem at a time and expand from there.
~ Mark Oakes

Worrying is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do, but it gets you nowhere.
~ Glenn Turner

And then there is this one to prepare me to get back into writing the book…

When something goes wrong in your life, just yell ‘PLOT TWIST!’ and move on.
~ Kelly Martin

What awaits you in your new week?

Good on you for taking a break and reconnecting with family! Hope you had a blast.

That resonates most with me. Often, we see time as going too quickly, when really we’re doing more than we can handle at once. I will be going on a one week break next week, and hopefully get more writing in!
