First Follower

Leadership Lessons from Dancing Guy is a brilliant video by Derek Sivers, delivered in a TED Conference in February 2010, and one that I keep coming back to watch over and over again. Why? Because I’m a fantastic first follower always in search of the leader worth following. I have the guts. I put in the work and market the idea. I build the movement with them.

Are you a lone nut or a first follower or one of the crowd that joins in?

When you find a lone nut doing something great, have the guts to be the first person to stand up and join in. ~ Derek Sivers

(original video of the dancing guy posted to YouTube by Michael Hughes, 2009).
